Under 9's & Under 10's Enjoy Their Day Out In Killarney
Clonmel Commercials U9 and U10 teams travelled to Killarney today at the invitation of
Dr. Crokes to participate in a blitz with John Mitchels from Tralee, Kilmurray Ibricken from Clare and the host
club Dr. Crokes. The u9s won all 3 games beating JM by 5-5 to 0-1, KI by 1-4 to 0-2 and DC
by 6-2 to 0-2, some of the football played by these young lads was outstanding
to watch at times. The u10 results were JM 1-8 to 4-1, KI 5-3 to 1-1 and DC 3-7 to 2-4, one of
the many highlights of these games was seeing some of the attacking play by the
backs resulting in a number of scores by them. While losing the first
game the scoreline tells its own story as this young team drove at the opposition time and again in a great display of football. A great day was had by all finished off with a trip to McDonald's thanks to all mentors, parents and anyone who assisted in any way to make the day such a
success.

What A Wonderful Day
22/6/'13
All clubs have good days and bad and this is what sport is all about. June 22nd 2013 will go down as a day not to be forgotten by Clonmel Commercials. Early this morning our under 9's and 10's headed to Killarney to take part in the Dr.Croke's blitz and were outstanding ambassadors for the club. The under 10's won two of their three games while the under 9's went one better and won all their games against opposition form some of the leading clubs in gaelic football. The under 8's travelled to Fethard to play in The Danagher Cup. After some excellent displays they emerged as tournament winners and claimed the honours in this prestigious competition. In Kilsheelan our under 16's took on the championship favourites Moyle Rovers in the South final. With a terrific display of determination, passion and skill they claimed a 5th south under 16 crown in a row for Commercials. Of the 5 titles this was possibly the sweetest given that the team were not fancied for much of the year. But they worked hard all year and quietly prepared for this clash and delivered a superb performance when it mattered. On behalf of the club I wish to congratulate all those who are working so hard . with all our juvenile and girls teams. Your work is never underestimated and it is nice to see it rewarded on days like today.

Sun Shines For Succesful Under 10 Blitz
25/5/'13
The sunshine arrived as did the four teams for this morning's under 10 blitz at the Sportsfield. Moyle Rovers. Carrick Swans, Mullinahone and our own under 10's all took part in a great morning's football. Commercials did very well winning two games and losing one. Having beaten Mullinahone and Carrick Swans Commercials went down to Moyle Rovers in the third game but it was a great morning for the guys who played . Unfortunately because of clashes with Communion at Gael Scoil Cluain Meala and a hurling tournament Commercials were short some players. But well done to all involved For more pics click here

Under 14's Through To County Final
4/6/'13
Commercials 6-10 Dúrlas Óg 2-07
The Under 14's are through to the county final on Saturday following a 15 point victory over Mid champions Dúrlas Óg in Leahy Park, Cashel this evening. The Thurles side were first to settle and took an early but brief lead in the opening minutes. However a Daniel Hoctor goal in the 5th minute set Commercials on their way and by the break they led by 5-01 to 2-03. Key to this was the performance of Calvin Boland particularly in the 2nd quarter when he covered a vast amount of ground both carrying the ball forward and chasing back. The forwards opened the Thurles defence on numerous occasions. However there were worrying signs in the Commercials backline as they rather easily conceded two goals and were fortunate not to be breached on other occasions.
Though Dúrlas Óg continued to press after the resumption and pressd hard to bridge the gap they never got close enough to cause any huge concern. Commercials registered 1-09 in the 2nd half and can be pleased with their night's work. Ryan Lambe was in fine form and led the forward line. Jamie McGuire was solid in defence and both Calvin Boland and Adam Peters enjoyed good spells.
The county final is fixed for Dundrum on Saturday at 2.45pm. against a very impressive Galtee Rovers who defeated Nenagh Éire Óg in their semi-final. We wish the team and mentors all the best on Saturday.

Under 14's Storm To South Title
27/5/'13
Commercials 2-11 Moyle Rovers 0-05
The under 14's stormed to a 12 point win in tonight's South Final played in Newcastle. In a nervy opening 10 minutes Moyle Rovers brought the game to Commercials and led in the opening minutes. It took until midway through the first half for Commercials to gain the upper hand but a goal from Aidrian Tobin gave Commercials a huge boost and from here there was no looking back. At half time Commercials enjoyed a six point advantage. Commercials enjoyed a good spell after the interval but squandered many chances. The game's 2nd goal came courtesy of corner forward Sean Kennedy in the 10th minute and this sealed the title for Commercials. This was an excellent performance from Commercials who went into the game as favourites and were asked serious questions by a gallant Moyle Rovers side particularly early in the game. The questions were answered and Commercials were fully deserving of their win. Well done to all involved. More pics Click Here

Under 12 teams give great account of themselves
20/4/'13
Our under 12 "A" and "C" teams played in the final stage of the divisional Go Games earlier today and there was double disappointment at the results. However although both teams were unlucky to be beaten there were some great performances and all can be truly proud of their efforts. The "C" team was desperately unlucky to lose out with the last kick of the game to Fr.Sheehy's. In a tremendous display the boys and girls battled bravely against an excellent Clogheen side and could so easily have won but were creully denied by a goal in the dying seconds. Trailing at the break the side battled bravely to lead briefly during the 2nd half. The 2nd period saw a facinating battle with both sides giving their all. As the game entered the final seconds extra time looked on the cards but two 45's late in the game saw Commercials hanging on having looked likely winners several times during the 2nd half. With the 2nd effort Fr.Sheehy's goaled and with the kickout came the final whistle to see Fr.Sheehy's win by that final goal on a score of 2-04 to 1-04.
The "A" team faced a fancied Moyle Rovers side in the "A" final and having opened well the sides were level after 10 minutes. Two quick Moyle Rovers goals gave the favourites a half-time advantage. Now playing against a breeze and with Rovers adding a point in the opening minute the Commercials task looked impossible. A tremendous battling performance from Commercials produced a brilliant 2nd half and with just 7 minutes remaning the sides were seperated by just two points as Commercials began to ask serious questions. A goal at this stage for Commercials could have seen this young side go on to win but it was Moyle Rovers who finished the stronger and saw them win by 2-08 to 1-06.
Well done to both teams and with many of the players on show today under age for this grade next year and the year after the future is bright for these youngsters. For more pictures click here

The under 16's made it 4 south titles in a row by defeating Moyle Rovers by 3-11 to 2-08. Commercials 1-22 Ardfinnan 0-00
The under 16's continued on their winning ways tonight with a facile win over Ardfinnan . This side has produced some excellent displays to date and while they have recorded some convincing displays as the championsip goes on it will be important that they can produce their best form when it will matter most. Tonight however as the scoreline would suggest they completely outplayed the opposition and were by far the superior side. Well done to all involved .

HO HO HO!!!!! Santa arrives.
A wonderful time was had by the large number of children at The GAA Centre. Santa arrived shortly aftre 4.30pm having been delayed on his way from the North Pole but when he arrived he made sure that all the children received a party bag and Billy Bop gave out countless spot prizes. The club would like to thank all the organisers from both Commercials and St.Mary's on a great occasion and the parents who supplied the snacks and sandwiches. Thanks also to the ladies who worked hard to serve the teas, minerals and food. Congratulations again to all involved. For more pics click on "Juvenile Club" tab
